The ritual has just begun - the pyre is lit, and mallow monks’ meditations are fanning the flames making it burn hotter and hotter over time. Equipped with water guns and water balloons, players traverse the map with the help of their animal allies. They use their ammunition wisely to extinguish flaming family members and distract Mallow Monks from their meditations.
Along the way, players gain more watery artiller, deploy their animal friends’ unique abilities, summon the Spirit of The Hallow, and assist fellow players. Those that save the most resources, rescue all three family members, and keep the Pyre’s intensity low will win the game.

Summon The Spirit by "pulling a tooth" from the werewolf apparition on the dashboard. Use the shape of his remaining teeth instead of the shapes shown on the card that round.

Ground animals can Quake, an ability that allows players to move one square to a new location where it is connected to the rest of the shape at the corners.

Kervin Queliza is a QPOC board game designer, content creator, and publisher that got his start in the board game industry in his car on TikTok. He advocates for diversity not only at board gaming tables but also within the games themselves. We wanted to create Marsh Hallow to demonstrate that roll and write games are more fun when they are supported by strong themes, story, and art.
